Open your mind...
Okay, God created everything right?
Then why hate and persecute gays? He created them! How bad could they be?
Yeah yeah, you're thinking "He didn't create them, being gay is a choice!" Let me tell you a story...
Back when I first started Kindergarten I met this kid named Chris Napier. He was always... different. He acted like the girls in the class. I remember once when I was playing basketball, I stole the ball from him and he slapped me in the shoulder. Like, a really girly slap, limp wrist and all. Anyway, after high school was over, I was talking to his best friend Angie, and she's upset because Chris came out of the closet and she had NO IDEA Chris was gay. They had all this trust and stuff, and her logic was that if he WAS gay, he would have told her.
So anyway, Chris was gay back when we were all just little-ass kids. He was made that way.
Maybe now you're saying, "But the Bible says 'Thou shalt not lay with another man'!"
True, it does. Two things though...
1. There's a ton of freaky shit going on in the bible. Abraham had all these wives, guys are having sex with their daughters, there was that one disciple who's nickname was "The Beloved". I forget who that was.
2. The Bible was written by man. MAAAAAAN. As a matter of fact, when it was being converted from the Old testament to the King James version, there was a committee of people who were involved, and they discussed all the stuff they were going to put in there. Like, one of the things that didn't make the cut was, they were going to say that women didn't have a soul. BULLSHIT!!! I'll be damned if the women in my life don't have souls. See, the Bible was the only mass-media back then, and the people in power wanted to bend the poor, uneducated masses more to their liking, and that included instilling the poor with the rich people's insecurities.
My point with that second thing is, you can't swallow everything that the Bible says whole without questioning it. In the movie "Sling Blade", Billy Bob Thornton's character says something to John Ritter's character (who was gay) that I liked. He said something along the lines of, "I know in the Bible it says 'Thou shalt not lay with another man', but I don't see why God wouldn't let a nice guy like you into heaven."
So, even if you don't like what I said and you think I'm stupid, consider this. If two consenting adults love each other and want to express it through marriage, who cares? In the end, it's none of your business, keep your laws out of other's lives.
